'The Walking Dead': Daryl Dixon Could Die In Season 6 (SPOILERS)

"The Walking Dead" season 6 will contain at least one major character death, and there's some reason to think that Norman Reedus' Daryl Dixon could be on the chopping block. Despite comic book timelines hinting otherwise, here are reasons Daryl Dixon might die in "The Walking Dead" season 6.

Anyone that's watched a drama series that deals with death knows that great impact comes when a beloved character's story arc is cut short. For many "The Walking Dead" fans, Norman might be their favorite cast member. If Robert Kirkman and the writers are searching for a death that will set the community on fire, he's an obvious candidate.

It's also worth noting that Robert Kirkman recently stated that a fan favorite character is going to die in season 6. Comic readers have their suspicions about who Kirkman is referencing, but because Daryl is such a well-liked series figurehead that leaves him square in the middle of the speculation. Scott Gimple and team have been known to diverge from the comics too. Just because a character dies at a certain time in the comic, that doesn't preclude the TV victim from being someone else that viewers don't expect.

Since appearing on "The Walking Dead," stock in the Norman Reedus hype train has grown increasingly valuable. After five seasons on the AMC show, there are other directors and producers that see what this talented actor can bring to their set. In fact, there are two films scheduled to release this summer that feature Reedus in a prominent role.

As the "Boondock Saints" frontman gains notoriety, is it possible he'll search for something bigger or more diverse to expand his portfolio?

Similar to being a fan favorite survivor, Daryl is also extremely connected to his pals at the Alexandria Safe-Zone. Despite being detached with grief, Daryl managed to be inadvertently social with others during the back half of season 5. While the Grimes tribe remained suspicious of their new surroundings, Dixon forged his own path to foster a relationship with Aaron. In a lot of ways he's the silent bridge between two formally divided communities. Unity is coming in season 6, but some might say seeds of it were sewn with Daryl.
