‘Fear the Walking Dead’ is set to premiere in the summer, ahead of the return of ‘The Walking Dead’ in October of this year which will air its sixth season. We know that when ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ airs, we’ll get to see the early days of the outbreak, which is basically the time we missed while Rick (Andrew Lincoln) was in his coma on ‘The Walking Dead’…
But one thing we didn’t consider was the walkers and how they might look compared to how we see them now, and apparently, the show’s production team have managed to create quite a unique look.
On that subject, Robert Kirkman spoke with Entertainment Weekly and explained: “Greg Nicotero and his team have definitely come up with a very unique take on our early walkers.”
He added: “It will harken back a little bit to the early days of the first season of The Walking Dead. But there’s also going to be some nuance, and some cool things added in that will give this show a very unique look.”
Kirkman went on to reveal that viewers will notice quite a few differences between then and now, and there’s set to be “a lot of cool things” for us as fans to watch out for. He also reiterated that we will see “the early days for the first time”.
We’re pretty excited to see just how different the walkers are in the early days of the outbreak, but remember, it’s not likely we’ll find out what caused the outbreak in the first place.
However, an earlier timeline is something we’ve known about for a little while now, and showrunner Dave Erickson revealed to TVLine that the first few days will have a “civil unrest” feeling.
He went on: “Everyone’s trying to deal with the fact that people they know and love are suddenly behaving in [odd] ways, while also trying to process the fact that there are shootings, fires and riots breaking out across the county.”
