"The Walking Dead" is in its off-season, but that hasn't stopped the season 6 rumors from developing in full force. In fact, one blog recently speculated that Danai Gurira's Michonne dies in episode 2. That being said, the show's most reliable spoiler source has posted its own response.
The super SPOILER conscious should turn back now, but nothing major lies ahead.
The story comes to Design & Trend via Inquisitr which cites past updates from The Spoiling Dead fans. The source claimed that the well known spoiler page had a strange lack of images of Gurira on set. At the time of the initial report, only one group member said that they had seen her anywhere near the action. When popular characters suddenly go missing, "The Walking Dead" fans sometimes assume they've met an unfortunate fate.
However, sword-wielder enthusiasts need not be concerned. As a rebuttal to the original lead, The Spoiling Dead fans recently uploaded a photo of Michonne that was taken on May 19. "We made no such statement" the post reads, and it confirms that Michonne is "alive and well" according to what they have seen.
There was some cause for concern given the events of March's "The Walking Dead" season 5 finale. While the Wolves just appeared as a threat to Alexandria's community, there's evidence to suggest their qualification as a formidable adversary. If the menacing group were to place Alexandria under siege, there's a distinct chance that popular characters like Michonne might die in the fray of bullets and knives.
Season 5 could be described as a massive coming out party for Michonne's character. After being silent for several seasons, she finally stepped up to be a strong leader at the perfect time. While Rick succumbed to slow insanity, the sword-clad heroine took charge and pushed the group closer to Alexandria. She was the first survivor to see good in Aaron's offer, and, so far, that hasn't proven to be a terrible decision.
Show creator Robert Kirkman once mentioned Michonne as one of his favorite characters of the entire TV series. Would he be willing to pull the death card in season 6 if that's the case? We won't know for sure until the episodes air, but, for now, the answer to that question is leaning much closer to no.
As "The Walking Dead" season 6 premiere approaches. Design & Trend will continue to cover spoilers for those that want them. For more concrete details on episode 2, head right here.
"The Walking Dead" season 6 is projected to air in October.
