It’s clear that The Walking Dead is no stranger to losing characters. Its fans and viewers must be well-versed with this by now. If recent news is to be believed, The Walking Dead Season 8 may follow suit with character losses. However, this time around, the cast may find themselves one character short right off the bat.
The chances of The Walking Dead being one character short upon Season 8’s premiere might not come off as all that surprising. Previously, The Walking Dead Season 7 started off with the death of the beloved Glenn Rhee (Steven Yeun). Who’s to say Season 8 won’t begin in the same fashion as well? The end of Season 7 saw the story’s characters about to engage in an all-out war, after all. With this into account, who, then, could be missing in action when Season 8 comes in?
Some sources suggest that actress Christian Serratos may be absent in the first episode of Season 8. Serratos portrays Rosita Espinosa on the show. As some viewers may recall, Season 7’s finale sees Rosita getting shot.
Fans later see her lying on a hospital bed, and her fate beyond this is unknown, which reinforces the likelihood of her absence in the Season 8 premiere. Furthermore, Serratos just recently gave birth to a baby girl. As such, she may opt to shy away from The Walking Dead set — at least temporarily — in order to spend some time with her newborn.
Though there is a possibility of Serratos going missing in The Walking Dead Season 8 premiere, this isn’t to say that she will be absent for the remainder of the season. For one, her character still has some unresolved tension with Dwight.
Additionally, it seems there could be something going on between herself and Tara after Abraham’s death. With such into account, Season 8 may actually have a lot more in store for Serratos and her character. She just might not be available when Season 8 hits television screens due to her new life as a mother.
