Danai Gurira is leaving 'The Walking Dead'

Actress Danai Gurira's movie career is heating up, which could spell trouble for one of "The Walking Dead's" most popular characters.

As you know, Gurira plays Michonne, Rick's love interest and the sword wielding zombie slayer on "TWD." But she's also in three major movies over the next few years.

First up is this weekend's Tupac Shakur biopic "All Eyez On Me." Gurira will also co-star in "Black Panther" next February. Her character, the female warrior Okoye, will appear in May's "Avengers: Infinity War."

"The Walking Dead" has a rough history of actors taking on major roles and then dying. Could this be the fate for Gurira? Maybe.

Michonne is an important character in the comic book and show, who has taken on a big chunk of Andrea's storyline from Robert Kirkman's origin story.

[SPOILER ALERT] But Andrea is now dead. Still, that death is a ways off in terms of the television storyline.

It's very possible Gurira, whose role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe isn't that intensive, could navigate both "The Walking Dead" and "Infinity War." After all, she's already filmed two movies without missing a beat.
