As shown in the episode 6 sneak peek, a major subject of the story is that Daryl Dixon gets captured while trying to lead the premiere's zombie herd away from Alexandria. Sasha and Abraham are with him at the time of the incident, so it's up to them to save the motorcycle-riding heartthrob.
Before that happens, however, the trio is chased by a group of heavily armed people with cars and radios. Because of their sophisticated equipment, these enemies don't appear to be members of the Wolves. Instead, they're seemingly unrelated travelers looking for another target. Sasha, Abe and Daryl are erroneously identified as them. Regardless, the altercation develops into a firefight with moving vehicles.
In the fray of it all, Daryl apparently injures himself and stops to check out the wound. While doing so, he's approached by a man and woman named Dwight and Tina. Upon first sight, Dixon is smacked across the head and rendered unconscious. When he awakens, "The Walking Dead's" fearless hero is without his iconic crossbow.
As episode 6 movies forward, we can confirm that Daryl does indeed escape his captors when one of them unexpectedly faints. He takes advantage of the aberration, reclaims his weapon and bolts into the woods to reunite with his companions.
The mystery that remains is what group these kidnappers belonged to. What could these people possibly want with Daryl? Our spoiler senses tell us that that we might not know the answer to that conundrum for a little while.
