'The Walking Dead' Season 6: Norman Reedus confirms Glenn's death? [SPOILERS]

Hold onto your hats, folks. According to executive producer Scott Gimple, the upcoming sixth season of The Walking Dead will feature numerous flashback scenes, with one entire episode slated to be told via the medium.

The strategy, no doubt intended to shed some light on what's been happening with recently-returned fan favorite Morgan since Season 3, has seldom been used to great effect on AMC's wildly popular show, and fans are excited to learn more about the character's off-screen experiences following the tragic death of his son, Duane, at his mother's hands.

Morgan's return heralds a new era for the Alexandrians, but with speculation mounting over the fate of one of the show's most popular characters, actor Norman Reedus' (Daryl Dixon) latest practical joke is unlikely to put a smile on many faces.

Several members of the show's cast recently sat down with MTV to discuss which deceased character from the series they'd like to bring back. Sonequa Martin-Green (Sasha) cast her vote for Shane (party of one), while special effects mastermind Greg Nicotero posited that Rick's mental state would be markedly different if wife Lori was still alive.

Steven Yeun (Glenn) made a moving case for Dale/Hershel, but the reactions of the cast when Norman Reedus (Daryl) throws 'Glenn' into the mix make for some uncomfortable viewing. Nicotero is quick to clarify that Glenn isn't dead, but is it just us, or does the word 'yet' seem to hang unspoken in the air? Executive producer Robert Kirkman has a definite story arc in mind for Season 6 (and 7, 8, 9, 10, 50...) but do you think producers will really go so far as to kill off Glenn? Goddamn it, Norman.
