For quite some time now, fans of The Walking Dead have been hoping that two fan-favourites would get together, but nothing has ever happened. The two characters in question? The pair that people have always wanted to see get together? That would be Daryl (Norman Reedus) and Carol (Melissa McBride).
We’ve seen them grow closer and closer as the show has progressed and Daryl has gone from being a jerk with no friends, to a badass with a new family.
There have been a number of occasions where we as viewers have thought something might happen, especially when they were travelling on their own but nothing has ever happened.
So what about in season six? Could we finally see the pair finally hook up? Could it work in a world where you really don’t know what’s around the corner? In a new interview with TVLine, Melissa McBride has spoken about Carol and Daryl and discussed the “incredible connection and bond” that they both have.
“I think the first encounter between the two of them we saw as viewers, there is something interesting going on.”
She continued: “I think both of them coming from an abusive past, having an abuser over them, and coming into their own forced by the circumstances of the apocalypse…”
“I think they understand each other. That will always be there. They lean on each other,” she explained in the interview.
