Season 5 concluded with a walker sneaking in behind Alexandria's supposedly impenetrable walls. If the season 6 premiere doesn't show signs of a much bigger zombie threat, then what was that symbolism for?
Yes the Wolves are an obvious hazard, but there's no forgetting that "The Walking Dead" is still very much a zombie show. The dead can't just dissipate when people with guns come knocking.
This is especially true since the Wolves seem to use walkers as a weapon. The season 5 finale proved that they had quite a growing collection of them, so how will they be militarized if they can't be controlled?
Season 6 should start with a bang to show us how these two very different and dangerous groups combine. Every premiere has a huge walker moment. If season 6 doesn't, what are we even watching?
"The Walking Dead" season 6 premiere airs Oct. 11 on AMC.
