SPOILERS: Flashbacks of Rick or Daryl, before apocalypse?

The Walking Dead is due to return to our screens on October 11th at 9pm ET on AMC and the following night on FOX here in the UK.When the show returns, it’s been revealed that the sixth season will feature a number of flashbacks – and we’re assuming they’re related to things we haven’t yet seen.

There would be no point in showing us what happened in Atlanta when Rick (Andrew Lincoln) was in his coma, because “Fear the Walking Dead” will showcase that, albeit in Los Angeles.

Could it be related to an earlier time in Alexandria where our group are currently located or how about the time we missed with Morgan (Lennie James)?

At this year’s San Diego Comic Con, Scott Gimple, the showrunner for “The Walking Dead” discussed how the flashbacks will come into play.

“There will be a whole lot of flashbacks in the first half of this season,” Gimple revealed. “I’m working on an entire episode that is a flashback.”

An entire episode is interesting. That really has us thinking that this could be related to Morgan, after all, he appeared briefly throughout season five with no real explanation. We know he’s changed, but he’s survived but aren’t you as intrigued as we are to find out exactly how he managed it, all alone?

As already mentioned, it could be the backstory of Alexandria and how so many people, managed to created a small town that is so protected from the outside that they’re able to survive. There are so many options available but whatever they decide to do, it’ll make for interesting viewing if it provides us with more of a backstory than we already have.

Companion series, “Fear the Walking Dead” will begin airing on the 23rd of August for a six episode first season – with a second already commissioned. Meanwhile “The Walking Dead” will return for its sixth season on the 11th of October
