'The Walking Dead' Season 6: Daryl Dixon's New Love or Carol (EXCLUSIVE)

Daryl Dixon is a character in sore need of a hug this coming Season 6 on "The Walking Dead." There are surely millions of female fans who'd be lining up for the task. But AMC's show may be targeting one specific candidate.

A new casting call has "The Walking Dead" on the lookout for someone to play Allison, a woman in her "late 20s to early 40s. She's "a smart, artful and charming psychologist who quickly turns awkward and messy when it comes to her personal life."

"She'd much rather stay safely inside her comfort zone, but the true test of her mettle come when the comfort's gone and the stakes are life and death. She's not cynical and really cares about people." That's all the information we get about the new character, whose name may or may not be real. Yet, the character does fall in line with where Daryl's story may be headed.

During Season 6's episode "Consumed," Daryl discovers a book on how to treat survivors of childhood abuse. It's a poignant moment the show has yet to follow-up on, but that could change.

A "charming psychologist" would be the perfect person for Daryl to open up to, especially as he (hopefully) comes out of the isolated state he's been in since Beth's death.

Of course, a potential relationship between Daryl and a new female character won't make Carol fans happy. Many have hoped a romance between Carol and Daryl was on the horizon.

"The Walking Dead" casting news is some of the most protected in the television industry. So the character of Allison (or whatever she wounds up being called) will likely remain a mystery until Season 6 premieres this October.
