"The Walking Dead" season 6 filming is still underway, and news suggests that some major spoilers were just recently captured. Speculation has run wild, but discussion hinges on a rocket launcher being used inside Alexandria resulting in a possible cast death.
SPOILERS are ahead, so those that don't want to know about critical potential plots should turn back now!
The news comes to Design & Trend via the experts at The Spoiling Dead Fans. Yesterday, it was confirmed by a prominent group member that AMC crews had completely blocked off "The Walking Dead's" Alexandria set. This is vastly different from the network's usual policy, which has begrudgingly acknowledged the diehard enthusiast's desire to bring personal cameras near the location.
It's worth noting that, at the beginning of May, it was possible to get a very clear view of Alexandria as it fell under siege by a group of foreign enemies. In that sense, it's quite controversial that the entire area was completely shielded from view. Logic suggests that what happened behind those walls over the past few hours was a critical moment for season 6, and, as such, any possible leaks were obstructed.
One shocking change that emerged from the events, however, is that the community's bell tower no longer exists. Its remains are barely visible, and the structure itself is virtually erased from the map.
Given this spoiler, the question now turns to what kind of artillery might have caused the tower to crumble. One popular theory revolves around a previously discussed incident involving Michael Cudlitz's Abraham.
A few weeks ago, TV stalkers watched as the mustached construction worker battled with a walker that had a rocket launcher strapped to its back. It's possible that a firing of that massive weaponry is precisely what caused the destruction. After all, it would take quite a bit of firepower to cause that degree of obliteration.
Another worry is that such a massive explosion might have lead to a cast death that AMC didn't want its fans to see. Anything along those lines is far from guaranteed, but concern is rising for characters like Sasha that spend lots of time sniping zombies from that exact location. Her actress, Sonequa Martin-Green, was on set at the time.
That being said, false death rumors tend to run rampant during any "The Walking Dead" filming binge. For season 6 specifically, such speculation has already been seemingly been debunked for Daryl, Abraham and Eugene. Because TV episodes are often shot out of order, it becomes hard to confirm such major details this far ahead of the show airing.
"The Walking Dead" season 6 premieres Oct. 11 On AMC.
