At 9 p.m. on August 23, fans will get a look at a new set of characters living through the same zombie apocalypse as Rick and the rest of gang on the West Coast, specifically Los Angeles.
Fear the Walking Dead stars Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Frank Dillane, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Lorenzo James Henrie, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Rubén Blades, Mercedes Mason, and Patricia Reyes Spíndola. It was created by Robert Kirkman and Dave Erickson.
The first season of Fear the Walking Dead consists of six episodes and will end on October 4, 2015, one week before the premiere of The Walking Dead Season 6. AMC has already ordered a 15-episode second season of Fear the Walking Dead.
While the name is very similar to the original, the style and tone of the series will feel very different than The Walking Dead, according to Entertainment Weekly. And, by that, I mean there’s no characters walking around in the woods.
The series is set in the city, and for the most part, the series will stay in the city. I think we can all breathe a collective sigh of relief there!
It’s not just the woods that got boring, at times, about the original Walking Dead. It was the lack of people and zombies. The city setting means more people, which also means more zombies, which also means more survivors, which means more things will happen!
That’s what a show with zombies needs: things happening and more of everything! I’m in.
