‘Fear the Walking Dead’ will take place in Los Angeles and will focus on a completely different group of people, and throughout the course of the show, viewers will get an insight into what happened in the early days of the outbreak.
But while the companion series will reveal more of the early horror, unfortunately, we won’t get to see what causes the outbreak in the first place.
To begin with, we let out a groan, but the more we thought about it, we liked the idea. It’ll forever be one of the show’s biggest mysteries that may never be revealed.
‘Fear the Walking Dead’ is set to begin airing in the summer, and at the National Association of Broadcasters Show in Las Vegas, Robert Kirkman, Steven Yeun, and AMC president Charlie Collier were on hand to tease the show.
He added: “It’s not about fixing this world, and it’s not about learning what the cause is. Every other story deals with that stuff and we’re concerned about the heart.”
Kirkman also spoke about the show’s title and explained that they’re taking viewers: “back to a timid time when the walking dead were more dangerous and more of an ever-present threat.”
He went on to expand on that, saying: “They are, in a sense, all just on borrowed time and it’s possible that the people that we’re following in this show are maybe a little bit more deadly.”
That makes sense, because with The Walking Dead, we know it’s all about the walkers and survivors, but with the companion show, it’s about dealing with the outbreak before it gets worse.
Do you wish we knew more about the companion series, or do you want to be surprised when the show finally comes to our screens later this year?
