‘Fear The Walking Dead’: Robert Krikman Reveals (HUGE SPOILERS)

With the official announcement from AMC that their Walking Dead companion series, Fear The Walking Dead would premiere this summer, fans have been speculating just when in summer it would screen. Robert Kirkman, has come out to Fangoria and told the world via conference call to the site the start date for Fear The Walking Dead would be August.

“I’m really excited for Fear The Walking Dead to debut in August and for people to see just what we’ve done, but we’re not in a hurry to continue expanding the world of The Walking Dead.”

If Fear The Walking Dead premieres on August 30 though, it will bring the Season 1 finale date to October 4, which will, potentially, bring it very close to the start date of Season 6 of The Walking Dead — perhaps something AMC has planned strategically so the two series flow one after the other. If AMC plays their normal Walking Dead marathon in the week leading up to the Season 6 premiere, that would mean fans get to see the entire show from the L.A. outbreak to Rick Grimes and his gang joining the safe haven of Alexandria — now wouldn’t that be something to behold?

While the Fear The Walking Dead crew have been hesitant to say they would like to have a crossover between either show, having the story run in its logical timeline would make a lot of sense in relation to getting fans hooked.

“When you watch Fear The Walking Dead, it’s going to be very visually different than the way The Walking Dead looks. For starters, this isn’t going to be shot on 60mm film; Fear The Walking Dead is actually going to be shot digitally, so there’s going to be a very different feel to the show. It’s really exciting, and I can’t wait for people to see it.”
