All this talk about Daryl Dixon hooking up with X, Y or Z on The Walking Dead, we can't blame Norman Reedus for wanting to get off the romance topic.
E! News really wanted to push that angle, but Norman tried to keep the conversation in the friend zone when chatting about TWD while on the red carpet at the premiere of HBO's Kurt Cobain documentary.
E! asked Norman for some scoop on Season 6, which should start shooting in a little over a week, asking, "You and Carol, what's going on?" Norman answered (good naturedly), "Let's lay off that for a minute. The thing is, once you do that, it's done. I like all the awkward things in between that make a person and make it honest. I think that that character, once he shacks up with somebody, he's going to be with them for life, so I don't want to blow my wad, so to speak, right off the bat, you know what I mean?"
E! quipped that Daryl is "enjoying Carol's cookies." Norman said, "Let's not take it there," adding of Daryl and Carol Peletier (Melissa McBride), "I don't know. Those two characters are so alike and almost have like a brother/sister love and respect for each other. It's almost more than a make out under the moonlight situation." We've been seeing Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) and Carol as the ones who are so alike and brother/sister, but we all have different ways of interpreting things.
Asked to describe Season 6 in one word, Norman said, "Chaos. Utter chaos." That's also what he said in AMC's behind-the-scenes video asking the cast and producers what they think is ahead. They may still not know, unless they have the first script by now. Chandler Riggs said they'd be in the dark until the first pages were handed over in late April.
