The Walking Dead Season 6 hasn’t even debuted yet, but we’re already hearing (unconfirmed) spoilers about the midseason finale. I, and if pretty much any of it turns out to be true, the upcoming episode might just be one of the series’ best and bloodiesty installments to date.
According to some of the chatter we’ve heard thus far, at least two key characters perish in the midseason ender while another (who has been part of the series since the pilot) loses an eye. Ew.
Read on if you dare, but you’ve been warned that spoilers lie ahead.
Per the folks over at The Spoiling Dead Fans Facebook page, filming spoilers seem to indicate Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln, Danai Gurira’s Michonne , Father Gabriel Stokes (Seth Gilliam), Carl Grimes, aka Chandler Riggs, Jessie (Alexandra Breckenridge) and her son Sam along with an Alexandria resident named Ron all find themselves trapped inside one of the houses as a herd swarms the streets of Alexandria. In order to escape, they cover themselves in walker guts and start walking through the herd on the streets while holding hands.
Sam is grabbed by walkers and gets eaten. which causes Jessie to attempt to save him even though it is a lost cause. She refuses to let go of Carl's hand while doing so and as she starts falling into a throng of walkers Rick chops off her hand/arm and she dies.
So much for that budding romance we were hoping for!
Alexandria resident Ron attempts to retaliate by aiming his gun to shoot Rick, but Carl notices and jumps in the crossfire in an effort to save his dad. He gets shot in the eye in the process.
Thanks a ton Emthippi:Hold on to your asses! Maybe this will get you pumped for season 6! Blurry pictures, but they are epic! Has anyone seen Carl's eye? -
Michonne then immediately kills Ron while Rick grabs Carl and freaks out. A few scenes later Rick apparently goes absolutely crazy and starts killing walkers, with Alexandrians joining in to help.
As TWD comic book readers now, Carl loses his eye in similar circumstances in that medium, so it’s entirely possible he’ll be down an eye by the end of the Season 6 midseason finale. We know how much TWD showrunner Scott Gimple loves to remix storylines from the comics but we’ll just have to wait and see what happens when the midseason finale airs at the end of November!
