"The Walking Dead" showrunners have said the forthcoming Season 6 will be flashback heavy. And it appears one of those flashbacks could involve Merle Dixon.
According to multiple websites, actor Michael Rooker, who played Daryl Dixon's brother on the show, has been spotted on set. As fans know, Merle met his demise during Season 3. So what does his appearance mean for the show?
[Some SPOILERS Ahead]
First, it could (and probably does) mean nothing. Rooker may have just been visiting his former costars. He wouldn't be the first actor to make a surprise visit to the set.
For the conspiracy theorists out there, Rooker's presence could also mean he will be at the center of a flashback episode involving Daryl. The trailer for Season 6 does show Daryl in trouble and alone in the woods, a scenario that could involve some hallucinations.
On the other hand, some "Walking Dead" fans have speculated Merle's potential return could spell the end for Daryl Dixon. The last time former actors/deceased characters returned to set it was during the Season 5 midseason-premiere when Tyreese died.
Combine all of this with rumors actor Norman Reedus recently filmed a pilot for another TV series and Daryl fans may have cause to worry.
Of course, in "The Walking Dead" world, the most plausible explanation is often the way to go. Rooker probably stopped by the set for a quick visit or small cameo that has nothing to do with Daryl's fate.
