Spoilers: Morgan’s Return, Rick’s beard, Daryl Dixon and more

The Walking Dead will return Sunday, October 11 at 9pm for the beginning of its sixth season with a massive 90 minute premiere episode. We’ve already seen the trailer that was released during last month’s Comic Con in San Diego, and judging by what we saw, the show’s new run is going to be yet another rollercoaster.

When the Comic Con poster (shown above) was released, many immediately assumed that a divide was coming to the Alexandria Safe Zone – especially after Morgan (Lennie James) returned. During the panel, Scott Gimple discussed whether or not we would actually see a divide in the group with a power struggle between Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Morgan to top it all off.

“Rick will be faced with challenges in the way he does things, and with including these people in the way he does things.”

He continued to explain that in the new season, he has to deal with the consequences of what happened with Reg and Pete, and how that as a result of that drama, the people who’ve always backed Rick may now be looking at him in a different light. Meanwhile, Andrew Lincoln was asked whether or not Rick misses his beard, which was chopped off when he arrived at the Alexandria Safe Zone.

“My wife doesn’t miss the beard,” he said, adding, “That was one of the most weird filming days of my life, when I had to shave, and get into a shower naked in front of my crew…”

He does miss the beard however and is working to grow it back as soon as he possibly can, and Digital Spy noted that while he was saying this, he “glanced” at Scott Gimple. Among other topics discussed was Sasha’s (Sonequa Martin-Green) breakdown, and Martin-Green was asked what’s next for her character…

“Healing, restoration… she’s hit rock bottom,” she explained, adding that portraying PTSD has been an honour.

“You have to hope that there’s light at the end of the tunnel, and that you can find reason to live again” she said. Green is also hoping that somehow next season, Sasha can find a way to respond to the deaths of her loved ones properly, because she didn’t at the time of their deaths.
