The one thing we know about Ethan Embry's character on "The Walking Dead" Season 6 is he probably won't be playing a guy chasing after Jennifer Love Hewitt. If you don't get that "Can't Hardly Wait" reference, I'm probably looking either very young or very old right now (probably the latter).
As many Embry fans noticed, the actor who has recently guested on TV shows like "Grace and Frankie" and "Once Upon a Time," is coming to the Alexandria Safe-Zone. Embry plays a prominent role in the trailer for Season 6. Yet, we don't know whom he's playing yet.
Showrunner Scott Gimple has said Embry's character is "very loosely based on a comic character" and "people will know when they see it."
Some fans have been freaking out (in a bad way) that Embry could play a strange TV version of comic book villain Negan. But I suspect much of that has to do with the similarities between Negan and Embry's hairlines (No offense).
It's not out of the realm of possibility. But I think it would be wise for the show to introduce a version of Negan that is very much like the one in the comic book (Only less vulgar). It's also a little early to introduce Negan, since we haven't even seen the Wolves arrive at the Safe-Zone yet.
[SPOILERS Ahead]
A better guess is that Embry will play Scott, a member of the Safe-Zone who respects Rick's survival instincts, but is very suspicious of him. That would fall in line with Embry's scenes in the trailer where he questions how many more people have to die under Rick's authority.
Scott is best known in the comic book as a close friend of Heath, a character AMC has already confirmed for Season 6. Scott ends up breaking his leg and dying in the comic book. But since Embry's character could be "loosely based" on Scott, things don't have to turn out that way.
Plus, you can't kill Embry off until he has a chance to profess his love for Jennifer Love Hewitt (Okay, that one was a stretch).
