‘The Walking Dead’ Season 6: What has Creator just revealed? (HUGE SPOILERS)

‘The Walking Dead’ isn’t due to air until October but while we’re waiting we’ll have spin-off series ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ to look forward to. That’s not all though, because while that’s airing, we’ll also be full of news relating to both shows and today, we’ve got some news on ‘The Walking Dead’ – and specifically, season six.

Spoilers are ahead.

Season five wrapped up with Rick (Andrew Lincoln) coming face to face with his old friend Morgan (Lennie James) moments after he seemingly killed Pete, who had just killed Reg. The season, which was one of our favourites so far, then came to an end and so the waiting game began, and it’s a long waiting game…..

Melty recently sat down and spoke with co-exec producer Greg Nicotero to find out just a little bit more about what we can expect from season six. Nicotero explained that how after five years, they still have the ability to raise the bar on the show and that’s something that’s pretty exciting. He also spoke about how dedicated the team of writers are to the show’s storylines and brought up the comic book series and how they differ in terms of characters dead or alive.

It sounds like however that following the comic books to the letter isn’t going to be happening in season six and fans can expect “detours” when the show returns in October. We’re hopeful that one of those “detours” is the death of Glenn (Steven Yeun) who does actually die in the comic book series. Fans will be hoping that this isn’t addressed on screen.

With ‘Fear the Walking Dead’, which is set to premiere sometime in August, it’s been revealed that the show will explore and earlier timeline but won’t reveal the cause of the outbreak. Nicotero explains that this is because the show isn’t focused on how the whole epidemic began, rather it’s about how the people trying to survive deal with the crisis.

What do you think we can expect from season six of ‘The Walking Dead’ when it returns to our screens later in the year? Let us know your thoughts below.
